Rendered
Visual families
Label flow, text, shapes, graphics, background stock, and barcode output are rendered directly in the preview.
Label Docs
This page groups the ZPL families that the renderer understands today, and it calls out the printer, network, RFID, and hardware commands that are accepted for compatibility but do not affect the preview.
Rendered
Label flow, text, shapes, graphics, background stock, and barcode output are rendered directly in the preview.
Parsed
Printer management, hardware control, RFID, and network commands are accepted so legacy labels keep loading without breaking the render pass.
Core Commands
| Command family | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
^XA, ^XZ |
Rendered | Start and end a label format. |
^PW, ^LL, ^LH, ^LS, ^LT |
Rendered | Label size and placement controls are applied before drawing. |
^LR, ^PO, ^PM |
Rendered | Reverse, orientation, and mirror are applied to the final canvas. |
^PQ, ^PR, ^MD, ^MM |
Parsed | Quantity, rate, darkness, and print mode are kept as metadata. |
^CC, ^CD, ^CT, ^CI |
Rendered | The parser can change caret, delimiter, tilde, and character set settings mid-stream. |
^CF, ^CW, ^A, ^A@ |
Rendered | Default fonts, aliases, and explicit font paths are resolved in the font layer. |
^FO, ^FT, ^FM |
Rendered | Field origin, field typeset, and multiple origin placement are supported. |
^FB, ^TB, ^FN, ^FV, ^FP, ^FC, ^FH, ^FR, ^FW, ^FS |
Rendered | Block text, variables, field parameters, counters, hex escapes, reverse print, orientation, and field separation work in the renderer. |
^GB, ^GC, ^GD, ^GE, ^GF, ^GS |
Rendered | Boxes, circles, diagonal lines, ellipses, graphic fields, and graphic symbols draw directly to the surface. |
^DG, ^XG |
Rendered | Downloaded graphics can be stored and recalled later in the same document. |
^XF |
Parsed | Format recall is recognized, but this renderer does not maintain a printer-side format stack. |
~BR, ~BI |
Background | Background rectangles and base64 images are painted behind the label content. |
1D Barcodes
| Command family | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
^B1, ^B2, ^B3, ^B4, ^B5 |
Rendered | Code 11, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 39, Code 49, and Planet are mapped to Zint symbologies. |
^B8, ^B9, ^BA, ^BB, ^BC |
Rendered | EAN-8, UPC-E, Code 93, Codablock F, and Code 128 are supported, including GS1-128 mode when requested. |
^BE, ^BI, ^BJ, ^BK, ^BL, ^BM, ^BP, ^BU, ^BZ |
Rendered | EAN-13, Industrial 2 of 5, Standard 2 of 5, Codabar, LOGMARS, MSI, Plessey, UPC-A, and postal barcodes are wired through the renderer. |
^BY |
Rendered | Sets the barcode defaults used by the active field. |
2D Barcodes
| Command family | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
^B0, ^BO, ^B7, ^BD, ^BF, ^BQ, ^BX |

^BT |
Rendered | TLC39 is handled as a supported barcode family. |
^BR, ^BS |
Rendered | GS1 DataBar and UPC/EAN extension commands are recognized and rendered. |
GS1 and EAN
| Command family | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
^BR |
Rendered | GS1 DataBar variants are handled directly. |
^BS |
Rendered | UPC/EAN extension bars are supported. |
^BY, ^BC |
Rendered | Barcode defaults and GS1-128 mode are compatible with the standard retail codes. |

The first block demonstrates the supported 1D and 2D barcode path. The second block shows the background extensions that simulate colored stock and pre-printed images.
Compatibility Notes
These commands are part of the Labelary command matrix, and this renderer keeps them harmless so legacy labels continue to load. They are recognized, parsed, and skipped when they do not affect layout.
